On September 30, 2023, at Que Vo II Industrial Park, Que Vo, Bac Ninh, Duoc Khoa Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (DK Pharma) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion and upgrade of the “Pharmaceutical, Cosmetic, and Functional Food Production Plant – Phase 2” (referred to as the BN Plant Construction Project – Phase 2).
Groundbreaking Ceremony for DK Pharma’s Phase 2 Pharmaceutical Plant
This event marks a significant milestone in DK Pharma’s development strategy to enhance production capacity, meet market demand, and solidify its position in the Vietnamese pharmaceutical industry.
The groundbreaking ceremony was honored to welcome distinguished guests, including representatives from the Ministry of Health, the Department of Health of Bac Ninh province, the Bac Ninh Drug and Cosmetics Testing Center, the Bac Ninh Food Safety Management Board, and valued customers and partners who have been closely associated with DK Pharma’s development over the years.
The expansion and upgrade project of the BN plant – phase 2 is constructed on Lot III-1.3, D3 road, Que Vo II Industrial Park, Ngoc Xa commune, Que Vo district, Bac Ninh province with a total investment of 82 billion VND, including the following items:
Expected to be completed after 8 months of construction, the BN plant – phase 2 will increase the capacity of the BN plant to 100-120 million products/year for the group of medical devices (MDs), specialties, and eye and nose product lines.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, General Director and Chairman of Duoc Khoa Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, stated: “After 21 years of formation and development from the cradle of Hanoi University of Pharmacy, through many generations of leaders as well as employees, DK Pharma has persistently followed its own development path and vision mission, gradually affirming its prestige, brand, and gaining the trust and love of valued partners and customers. Dược Khoa has created a position, although still modest, in the task of protecting and caring for the health of the whole people but has also made certain imprints such as Revenue in 2022 increased by 300% compared to 2016, creating jobs, ensuring livelihoods as well as social welfare directly for more than 150 employees, and indirectly for about 300 employees working at affiliated companies in the System; supplying tens of millions of healthcare products to customers nationwide each year. In the development process, Dược Khoa Company always takes the motto “Science for health” and the foundation of integrity, responsibility, and creativity as the guiding principle for all plans, goals, and production and business activities. We also recognize that Product quality and service are the secrets of all achievements that the Company has achieved, as well as the love of our customers and partners for DK Pharma. Therefore, in 2023, Dược Khoa Company decided to invest in a new plant for medical devices in the eye and nose product group with standards equivalent to the GMP-WHO eye and nose drug production plant, upgrade warehouse capacity, invest more deeply in pilot research for all dosage forms and especially enhance the capacity of the Quality Control department, to ensure maximum control of product quality, contributing to bringing to the market the best quality Drugs, functional foods, cosmetics, and medical devices.”

The new workshop will be equipped with machinery and built according to GMP-WHO principles, meeting the equivalent standard for GMP-WHO drug production. The MDs produced here to ensure compliance with Vietnamese regulations on GMP-WHO, are tested in laboratories meeting international standards, and stored in warehouses meeting GSP standards, ensuring the best product quality for consumers.
The expanded and upgraded DK Pharma MD plant phase II, built by DK Pharma, is a significant project not only for DK Pharma’s employees but also for the development of MD products in Vietnam in general, contributing to the standardization and standardization of the quality of MD products circulating on the market. DK Pharma is also the first company to pioneer the construction of an MD production plant according to GMP-WHO standards, which is a much higher standard than the current ISO 13485:2016 standard
